"Auld Lang Syne!"

The words "auld lang syne" mean "times gone by." Today is a good day to reflect on the past as related to your workplace! Do you have any regrets? Of course you do! Are there situations that you can change, improve, solve, fix, eradicate? Then do it! Do it now! But if there are situations that you can not change for the better then let them go! Do not waste valuable time trying to fix what is broken....let it go!
However, if you are looking back and you see what has worked, what remains good and what just keeps on getting better...then keep on doing what you are doing!!!
Make the New Year even better by focusing on what you are doing right and do not continue what you are doing wrong!
Take a good inventory of of how well you have been working with your co-workers and resolve to do a better job of getting along with them. Just think if everyone worked to improve the work environment, it would be a truly awesome New Year!
So for old times sake, for auld lang syne, etc., evaluate yourself and make a New Year's Resolution to be the new and improved co-worker!!!
Happy New Year!

"Click Your Heels, Dorothy! You Have What You Need To Succeed!"

"Click your heels Dorothy, you have what you need to succeed in working well with your co-workers! You know how important it is to treat your co-workers the way you would like to be treated! You know what types of personalities really turn you off and make you angry! Then make sure you do not act that way because you know how much you dislike that type of behavior!
Always take the high road! If someone is trying to cause problems for you then take the high road and stay away from confrontation! If you both need a mediator then talk to your supervisor but do not fight verbally or physically at work! You both lose! Someone has to take the high road...it may as well be you!
Help people who need help on the job! So many times people see their co-workers drowning and they do not even throw them a lifesaver! Come on work with me people! Those same people that you help will someday come to your rescue!
Respect your co-workers! Show each and every co-worker an awesome level of respect and watch the favor be returned and if it isn't...at least you know that you did your part!
Click your heels Dorothy! You have exactly what you need to survive in the workplace!

"You Can Learn From the CEO, The Manager and The Housekeeper!"

Yes, you can learn from the CEO and the managers of your organization and you can also learn from the Housekeeper. You should always respect and follow the authority, the CEO in your company and the managers, unless there are legitimate reasons not to do so.
They have valuable information that they can share with you!
You can also learn from the housekeepers! The housekeepers believe it or not can share valuable information. So many times the housekeeper has been in the instituion longer than the managers and they have valuable insight! Do not disregard their ability to assist you! You may be surprised!
Remember to respect everyone that you come in contact with! You may be surprised how much valuable information is gained and how much respect is returned to you!

Give The Gift of Joy/Happiness ( In theWorkplace!) This Christmas & Everyday

Give the gift of joy/happiness in the workplace! Yes, you can! You have to work at it but you can give pure joy/happiness in the workplace! Let's start with a smile! :) ! Okay let's start with several smiles! :) :0 :=) :D ;) !!!! Because we know smiles are contagious and you really need a lot of smiles to bring all that joy/happiness into the workplace! Mother Teresa once said, "Every time you smile at someone, it is an enormous action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing." Give the gift to your co-workers and watch the gift be returned to you. As you will quickly notice, more joy/more happiness..."smile in... smile out!"
Another way to create joy/happiness in the workplace is to do something really nice for the person who would least expect a good deed from you! You know what I am saying! Okay then I will spell it out! Do not shower all of your love and affection on your best friend! How difficult is that! I want you to be kind to the person who likes you the least and I want you smile while you are doing ths awesome deed! Just the sheer look of surprise from your "former" adversary will be a gift to you! In addition you and he/she may start mending those broken fences! How cool would this be!
Giving the gift of joy is really a great, wonderful , awesome thing! Try it, you will like it!
If you want more tips on how to spread joy/happiness in the workplace please leave a comment! I would love to hear from you!!!

"Take The High Road II !!!"

Here is valuable information that I admonish you to take to heart! There are times in the work environment that someone has to take the high road during a confrontation! Oftentimes that person is YOU! Come on work with me people! I know it is a lot easier to argue, explode, act out, create DRAMA, yell and scream but what does that accomplish? Does it prove anything positive? Or does it show the person that you are disagreeing with that they are right? Please do not confirm the negative! Do not help your adversary out! Prove Them Wrong! Take The High Road Now!!!
You can take the high road! Do not let your adversary get under your skin....you are better than that! I believe in you and I believe that you can take the high road!!! You do not have to argue, act out, create DRAMA, yell, or scream!!! Just let your adversary know that when they are ready to reasonably discuss the disagreement you will waiting. Let them know that someone has to take the high road and today that someone is you!
May God bless you in your endeavors to "take the high road."

"Take The High Road!"

It is time to realize that when you are unfairly confronted by a co-worker...Someone has to take the high road! Someone has to take the first step in making things right and so many times that person ends up being you! So get prepared to take the high road continuously. It does not mean that you are a brave soul with nothing better to do than take the high road. It shows that you have it so together that you know the only way to make progress is to nip the problem in the bud. You know it is time to move on to get whatever you are trying to accomplish. Taking the low road is not a good idea because you could surely get trampled over!
Therefore you should always take the high road and even though you may not receive accolades for your job well done...God knows what you have done and He will truly reward you!

"Man/Woman In The Mirror!"

I admonish you to take a long look in the mirror. Do you like what you see? Are you the type of person that you like to be around? Are you the type of person who is willing to go that extra mile? Are you the type of person who is willing to place other people in front of you? Are you willing to help other no matter how tired you are? Here's a $50,000
question, "Are You Humble Like Jesus Was? Seriously, I really want you to answer these questions to the best of your abilities.
Take a close look @ yourself in the mirror! Examine yourself one-on-one in the mirror and see yourself for who you really are! If you do not like what you see then make changes! Give that man/woman in the mirror an attitude adjustment and then lose those pesky pounds

"To Confront or Not to Confront?"

Here is the 50,000 question! Do you openly confront the co-worker who is getting on your last baby nerve or do you continue to suffer in silence? My first suggestion is to take this question to God in prayer and listen, really listen for an answer! Then I would do whatever God and I decided to do!
There was only one person in my unit who continually wanted to ruin my reputation of being very easy to work with. Every time she and I were in the same room, she would antagonize me and try to drag me into an argument! I prayed and I prayed. God answers come in all kinds of packages (true gifts) ;) ! God sent one of my prayer warrior co-workers with a message and she told me, "Do not allow this person to steal your joy!" and God also told me to take the high road! Whenever I saw this nurse, I avoided her and I was a lot happier when I did not allow her to steal my joy!!! I decided not to confront and I enjoyed my job more!!!
What would you do? Confront or Not Confront? What is your answer? A penny for your thoughts!!!

"Pay It Forward"

I challenge you do something really nice for one of your co-worker and request that they do something nice for another co-worker! Yes, ask them to pay it forward and then watch the magic begin!!! Do you know when you pay forward I really believe that Jesus is visible in your actions! I truly believe that God smiles when we do things from our heart and He then returns the blessing back to you!
So tomorrow at work do something nice and watch your co-worker's response. You will be truly blessed my friend!

"The Eyes Are Windows to the Soul"

The eyes are windows to the soul! When I communicated with my co-workers I always looked directly into their eyes. The eyes show the true feelings! They reflect what a person is truly made of. They can tell so much about the person that you are dealing with.
The eyes often show pain, really deep pain, sorrow, anger, disgust, humiliation, and suffering. But turn that around and you realize that the eyes show joy, humility, happiness, pleasure, compassion, and love. It is so important to know where your co-worker is coming from so that you both can go where you need to go.
I admonish you to always look your co-workers in the eyes! And while you are looking into this person's eyes make a connection with their soul!

Pay It Forward!

Today in your workplace....Pay it forward! Do something really nice for someone on your job! Work with me people...I really want you to concentrate and do something nice for your co-workers and ask them to pay it forward. It gives me pure joy to watch my co-workers faces light up because I did something nice for them! You see there are other awesome rewards for just being nice to your peers! That wonderful unexplainable delight that you feel when you see joy on your peers faces!
It is so wonderful to see the domino effect when something good is happening all around you! Give your environment a happy makeover! We often see the "bad" domino effect when something bad is happening! Let's face it we would all rather see the "good" domino effect! So start the good domino effect on your job and watch all the nice things happen all around you! You could be the start of something big after you start paying forward!
Be Blessed!

"Laughter, Smiling, Being Nice Is Cheap Medicine!"

Have you worked with people who refuse to laugh, smile, be sociable, or just plain be nice? Isn't it a real pain to work with this kind of individual? Are you this type of individual? If you are it time for attitude adjustment!!! These type of people are absolutley no fun to be around! They make the work place an emotion land mind and they cause others to be unhappy also!
If you are one of these types of people, stop it! You are causing to much drama in the work place!!! If you are not one of these types of people then do not respond to the negativity! It is not what happens to you in this world...it is how you react to it!
So laugh while you are work! For goodness sake there must be something fun or funny in your job! If there isn't you do not belong there! Laughter feels good and it is contagious! Smile at your job...you will be surprised how many faces you will light up in the work place! Do not forget to be nice... Everyone needs someon to be nice to them...Trust Me!!!
You will find that the laughter, smiles, and being nice will keep you sane and healthier! They are all cheap medicine!!!

"Someone's Got To Take the High Road!"

Someone's got to take the high road...It may as well be you! There are many times in the workplace when things are totally chaotic and everyone appears to be losing their very last minds, they are saying really mean ugly things, and don't forget the madness... someone's got to take the high road!
Let's face it people we have all witnessed and have been a part of all of that misery! I beg the question, did "You" take the high road? Listen people if you didn't take the high road then you can take the high road in the near future for I promise that chaos, loss of minds, saying of mean ugly things and the madness will return! Be prepared, they are like bad pennies they keep showing up!!!
As I tell my boys it isn't what happens to you....It how you react to what happens to you!!! So even though the world is not treating you right and the chaos, loss of minds, and the mean ugly words and the madness are overwhelming, you do not have to react in a negative way! Take the high road...Someone has to!
It may as well be you and you may be the change that is needed to stop all of the madness.
Take the high road and see!!!

"Who's The Boss?"

Who's the boss at your job? Whoever that may be he/she must realize that in order to be a good leader he/she must be a servant! Remember how Jesus washed the feet of His disciples? I am not advocating that every boss must wash the feet of their employees "definitely not!" However, I know from experience that employees appreciate it when the supervisor or manager jumps in to help them! Serve your staff and they will serve you!
Work with your staff! Show them that you care! Get in there and be one of the worker bees! People notice! People appreciate the help! The work gets done and you may gain allies on the way! It is a win win situation!

Man/Woman In the Mirror

Please always remember to take a close look at yourself when you are complaining about people in the work environment! Look at that man/woman in the mirror and make the necessary changes!
Are you causing problems for your co-workers? Are you argumentative, unkind, mean, vindictive, unforgiving, and just plain disagreeable! If any of these characteristics relate to you...It is time to clean up your act! If you want to see change in others you may need to change yourself! Think about this!
Look within yourself! Truly examine yourself and see what you can do to improve your work environment! You will be amazed! Take a look at the man/woman in the mirror and make the necessary change to make the work enivronment a better place!!!
You and your co-workers will all benefit! This is a gift that keeps on giving....

We are working as unto the Lord and therefore we must do our very best!  Believe me He knows!

R-E-S-P-E-C-T

Always remember to respect your co-workers!  This is the least that you can do in the workplace!  It is so very important to show respect to others because we expect others to respect us!  Do not blow your co-workers off just because you do not want to deal with them!!! How unfair is that?   Everyone want to treated with some modicum of respect! We all want to be included and we want our opinion to matter!  Show respect to your co-workers and I am certain they will return the favor!!!

"Scream!!!"

Always remember the goal is to keep your temper under control at work!!!  So many times when you are at work there are always people who will antagonize you and push you to the edge!  Therefore, you must challenge yourself to stay cool (never let them see you sweat!) and you must not lose your temper!
Here's a suggestion  control your temper, smile, excuse yourself, walk away...go the lounge, ladies' room or men's room, quiet place,  etc. and then scream!!!  Get it out of your system and then move on to what's really important!  You know, the reason you came to work, your job!
Devise your own plan to diffuse the bombs or try  my suggestion and see if it works!  Don't let people set you up to make you look bad!  You are bigger and better than that!

"Take The High Road!"

Always take the high road in your work environment!  When you are working with people someone must take the high road, it may as well be you!  So many times in the work environment, you will see people who are always starting something!  Well now it is time to ignore those people and do your work!  You are there to work and provide for your family!!! The days of "it is just a job!" are over!  Work with me people!  Your job is more than a job it is your lifeline!  Do not jeopardize your lifeline by getting mixed up in other people messes.  Let them clean up their own messes and do not get involved with them.  You know the signals when people are trouble makers and up to no good!  You see the flags!  Stay away!  Listen to that "still small inner voice!"  Stay away!  It is the "Holy Spirit" talking to you and it will not lead you down the wrong path like that coworker!
Take the high road, I have faith that you will be glad you did!!!

"Leave Your Baggage Outside of Your Job!"

If you are having problems outside of work, do yourself and your co-workers a favor, "leave your troubles (baggage) at home!" If you are in a bad mood, do not make everyone who comes in contact with you suffer!  Misery does not deserve company in the work place!!! Do not bring people down because you are in a bad mood!  Buck up co-worker!!!  Your co-workers are having problems too!  Do you really want to hear all of their problems?  The answer is a resounding "No!'  Everyone has a cross to bear!
Handle your problem at home and feel some empathy for your co-workers!!!  Leave your baggage outside of your job and enjoy your work! Your work can give a break from carrying your baggage! Now  there's a perk!!!
After you complete your work , go home and solve your problems!  You will feel better when you are not carrying a heavy load at work or at home!  Do not allow your baggage (anger, troubles  or problems) to destroy your work environment!  Your co-workers deserve more!!! You deserve more!!!

"Love Thy Neighbor In The Workplace!"

I cannot emphasize the importance of loving your neighbor in the workplace.  Your co-workers are a special family and let's face it you probably see your co workers more often than you see your siblings and parents!  That is why it is of the utmost importance that you work well with these indiviuals and you get along with these people!
Let's face it, wouldn't life be  a lot better if you and your coworkers worked well together?  Isn't it worth it to show a little love and get a little love back?  "Love in, love out!" That same love will most likely be returned to you when you love your neighbor in the workplace!"

"Don't Let Anyone Steal Your Joy!"

Many years ago I worked with a nurse who was not easy to work with.  She basically told me that she did not like me because I was "too happy!"  She would often try to engage me in arguments and I would not allow her to do so by either ignoring her hurtful words or leaving the room.  I prayed a lot for this woman and I prayed to God for guidance in dealing with this person, and God sent me the answer through one of His most beautiful vessels, a prayer warrior friend.  My friend told me simply, "Do not allow this person to steal your  joy!"  A simple message that meant the world to me.  I decided to avoid this person and I decided that I would not be drug down to her level.  Someone had to take the "high road" and it may as well be me!

"Help Others In the Workplace!"

Do you help other people in the workplace?  If you do not you should!  It is so very important to help others when you are working on your job because one day you will need help also!   The other reasons you should help others is because it feels great to help others and you should always treat people the way you want to be treated!
It is so very unfair to watch your friends flailing, sinking, drowning (you choose the word) and you do nothing to help them!  Your friends have memories like elephants and remember they will return the favor!  Instead of making them angry about your lack of assistance, make them happier when you help them!  Everyone wins when you help others and it is a win-win situation!!!

"It's Not About You!"

Do you think that your present job situation is about you?  Guess again, it is not about you!!! Let's face it most of what we do and how we live, work and play are not about us!  It is truly about our living loving Father and the sooner we get this in our thick heads the better off  we will be!
We are here for God's glorification!  We are nothing without God and He has given us all that we have and He asks for so little in return!  So the least that we can do is to go to work and try to reflect back the light that God continuously shines back on us!!!!
You may  inquire, "How do we do this?"  Let me tell you a straight and narrow path is never easy!"  But  we can make the best of a situation by asking ,"What would Jesus do?"  After we answer this question we are well on our way to reflecting His light on people who are in so much darkness that need your light to help find their way to Him.
Even though it is not about you,  you can be the instrument of peace that He uses to minister to people at your job!  Be God's instrument today...It is the least that you can do!

Pray for Your Co-Workers!"

It is very important that you pray for your co-workers!!!  Prayer moves mountains!  Prayer changes things and people!  Pray for the people who really give you a tough time at work.  Pray for peace in their lives so that they give you a little peace in your life!
When you pray feel the prayer!  Don't pray because I said so, "Pray because you really want to help your "friend-enemies!"  and there is no better way to help them to pray for them!!!
So here is my challenge, pray for you dear friends and your enemies too and then sit back, relax and watch the fireworks!!!  Of course, as we know God puts on the best light show ever!!!

"A Divine Appointment!"

You may not believe this but the time you spend at work is truly a divine appointment!  Yes you could have been any where in the universe but God chose to place you at your job in these moments in time!  The time that you spend at work is not a mistake!  It is truly meant to be.  Therefore, you should be enjoying yourself at work!  Work is not an error, or a mistake.  This was meant to be.  So go with the flow, "work with me people!" Make the best of your situations!  If you are receiving lemons, then make the greatest lemonade that your co-workers have ever tasted!
Enjoy the time that you spend at work, but for God's grace and mercy things could be worse, a lot worse!  You could be unemployed!!!
"All comments are welcomed!"

"Smile!"

Do you know how important it is to smile at work!  Do you know that a smile is contagious and it can brighten up your day and your coworkers' day?  It actually does take less muscles to smile than to frown!
Let's face it, there is too much pain, suffering, darkness, and sadness in the world!  Do we have bring that into the workplace?  No we do not! Cancel that order for more pain, hatred, suffering, darkness, and sadness in the workplace!!!  Fill the order instead with smiles, lots of smiles, love, light, peace  and joy in the workplace!
Remember "smile"  :) and all of your co-workers and the world smiles with you!!!

"To Have Friends, You Must Be A Friend!"

To have friends in the workplace, the same rules apply, you must be a friend!   Treat other people the way that you want to be treated!  Be kind  to your co-workers.   Show them that you care!  If you see a co-worker sinking fast in an ocean of paperwork,  jump in and save him or her!
They will return the favor!
Be considerate of other people and give them the opportunity to voice their opinions.  You may be surprised by the creative and ingenious answers that you will receive.
Create those friendships in your co-workers that will last a lifetime!  However, you must remember to be a friend!!!  It is truly  a "win-win" situation!

Love Your Enemies Because It Really Gets On Their Nerves!"

When I was a Nursing supervisor, I once received a sign to place on my desk that said, "Love Your Enemies Because It Really Gets On their Nerves!" Guess what? It really does get on their nerves! The sign made me smile :) .
I worked with a certain group of ladies who decided that they would test me on all levels! But I decided that I would show love instead of disdain when I was tested! What Would Jesus Do? He would show the love! I showed the love and eventually the love was returned!
Today I admonish you to "love your enemies," not only because it gets on their nerves, but because it plants a seed of love that will be eventually be returned to you!
The nurses who gave me the me my sign with the poignant message, requested that I stay with them when it was time for my husband and I to leave the area. I was overwhelmed by the love that I was shown!!! You will be too!!!

"Walk A Mile In Your Co-Workers Shoes!!!"

I admonish you to walk a mile in your co-workers shoes! The reality is everyone has a cross to bear and some people tolerate their crosses better than others! Take a real close look at a co-worker's current life condition and try to understand what is going on in his/hers personal life that may be causing them to act out @ work. I bet if you looked closely enough, you will find a reason for the person's bad behavior.
Whenever possible show them compassion and empathy because but for the grace of God there go you!
Please comment tell us about the day you walked in your fellow employee's shoes and please tell us if you understood more about the employee and yourself after all was said and done .

"Scream!!!"

Here's a hint regarding how to handle people at work who are getting on your last baby nerves!  You should not antagonize them and  then you should wait, cool down  and go into the staff lounge and "scream!"  Let off you steam in the lounge or lady's room and after you have calmed down,  you may be able to approach this person one on one to get a good understanding of where their heads are and why you are not getting along!!!  If you approach them while you are angry, you are pouring gasoline on an angry fire!
Please write me and let me know if this worked.  Also write and tell me how do you handle your antagonistic coworkers?

"Do You Take the High Road?"

Do you take the high road at work?  Really, do you take the high road when you are confronted by coworkers?  Does every inappropriate comment that falls out of co worker's mouth deserve a response from you?  Have you ever really taken a look at that coworker to try to figure out why they act the way that they do?  Do they treat everyone the same way?  If they do then it is not your fault that they have a problem working with others!  Do not take some of the comments personally!  Many times it is not about you!  It is about them and their life issues and if you want to be their friend then be their friend and if you don't want to be their friend then don't be their friend! But do not engage people in arguments for the sake of arguments!  Take the high road today!!!
Do you take the high road at work?  Please write me and let me know! You could help many people who do not take the high road!!!

Do You Work Well With Your Co-workers? Why or Why Not?

Do you work well with your co-workers? Do you know why you work well with your fellow employees or why you do not work well with them?  Let's talk about all of the possibilities and we may be able to improve your work environment! I am willing to work with you!  Let's get this party started!!!

Welcome to Work With Me People Now!

Welcome to "Work with Me People Now!" This blog was written to encourage people to work with their co-workers.   I worked as a Registered Nurse for 30 years and I did not have  any confrontations with my co-workers.  I know that the time that I spent at my job was a divine appointment!  I could have been anywhere else in the universe but God chose to place me on my job.
I am first and foremost a Christian woman who believes with her heart and soul that the world is about God and his glorification.  It is always important to remember to place God first even when your co-workers are acting inappropriately and always remember to look at the man/woman in the mirror to see if you may need to make changes in your behavior.
Life is much too short, enjoy the time you spend at work.  It truly is a divine appointment!
